The first fortress dates back to 1000, we have some news that on January 26, 1041 with a diploma of Emperor Henry III, the castle was sold to the then powerful bishop of Asti. From the fifteenth century to 1803 the castle was converted to religious use and converted into a convent. In 1783 Duke Victor Amadeus III of Savoy was a guest, as you can still read on a plaque in the wall of the façade of the castle. With the Napoleonic laws of 1803 the convent was confiscated by the French government in Piedmont and sold to the noble and powerful family Pogliani of Asti,
which transformed and beautified the Convent in Noble Residence.
The Castle today presents a completely renovated area of 2690 square meters for residential use.

In the early twentieth century Pogliani sold the Castle to the Poggi, shipowners who owned it until the 1990s. The Castle, is officially entered in the tourist-hotel facilities. With possibility' of building further construction of 2 floors with a total area of 1675 square meters. Latter subject to the conversion of the entire property in “Hotel Estate”.
